Welcome to the family!

We moved to the High Country almost 2 years ago from Raleigh, NC. With my oldest child being at App State, the cool summers, (I HATE THE HUMIDITY…Terrariums are for turtles), we, well I, decided that Boone would be a great place for the next chapter of our lives.

Moving to this area and seeing no Greek food was quite a shock for me. I’ve taken it for granted. I grew up in communities where Greek Orthodox churches and Greek festivals were the norm. My husband, Mike, was still in Raleigh transitioning his construction business so that he could move here. Over and over I would tell him, “We need to bring Greek food to Boone!” And over and over he said, “Nope, I’m done with the restaurant business.”

I kept searching for a place to start that would be epic for this area. We have tons of restaurant history in my family starting with my grandparents who immigrated here from Greece. My dad had 12 Burger King franchises and my husband worked 20 years in corporate restaurants. Mike and I have owned our own cafe and food truck, so needless to say, food is in our blood and the business of food is as well.

It took me almost a year to secure a kitchen and when the owner of Deer Valley reached out to me, told me to come and check out their restaurant, I was elated. The rest is history. We officially opened on Dec. 17th of 2018.

It’s been such a blessing to be so well received, to have so many who have waited for Greek food to come back to the area and so many who have never tried it to be so happy and eager to come and visit us. Meeting so many locals and cool people is amazing for us since we are newbies in town! We are going to be expanding our menu, offering specials and bringing you the best I know how to give. We serve food I love to eat. Really great dishes that are soul food as far as I’m concerned.
